Who I am
I am an economist and finance professional from Ruse, Bulgaria's largest city on the Danube. After more than 20 years of international experience, most of it in the United Kingdom, I came back home with my family in 2022.
Today I advise entrepreneurs, manage investment projects and develop my own businesses in the real economy. I founded AlphaInvest.bg, a Bulgarian platform for financial literacy and investment culture, and I chair the Ruse branch of Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria (DSB), a centre-right party.
My experience
- Almost two decades in the United Kingdom - from hands-on operations to senior management roles in logistics and general management at Mattison.
- Education - MBA from Anglia Ruskin University (UK); master's degree in Finance and bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics from the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov.
- Public policy - graduate of the Atanas Burov Political Academy.
- Since 2022 in Ruse - business management, investment consulting and project management.
Why Ruse is a good place to invest
- Location. Ruse lies on the Danube at the Danube Bridge to Giurgiu - one of only two bridges between Bulgaria and Romania - about 70 km from Bucharest.
- Transport corridors. The city sits where Pan-European Transport Corridors VII (the Danube waterway) and IX meet, with a river port, rail and road links.
- Talent. The University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” is one of Bulgaria's leading technical universities and trains engineers, IT specialists and economists every year.
- Stable framework. Bulgaria is an EU member state, uses the euro and has a flat 10% corporate income tax.
- Room to grow. Ruse still has untapped potential. Faster administration, ready-to-use industrial land and full transparency of public spending are what I work for every day.
